Hector Pabon Named Executive Sous Chef at Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa in Florida
CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. (October 30, 2013)?- The AAA Four Diamond Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa, the newest luxury resort on Florida’s west coast, proudly announces the appointment of Chef Hector Pabon to the position of executive sous chef.
With more than 13 years of culinary experience, Chef Pabon comes to Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach from its sister property, Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, where he most recently served as chef de cuisine at the hotel’s world-renowned Oystercatchers Restaurant. Prior to joining the Hyatt family, Chef Pabon worked at several leading restaurants in the Tampa Bay area, including the Centre Club and Intercontinental Hotel. He began his culinary training at the Le Cordon Bleu Academy in Orlando where he received a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management and culinary arts.
“We are fortunate to have Chef Pabon join our talented culinary team,” said General Manager Brian Kramer. “Having been a member of the Hyatt family for the past several years, working at our sister property across the bay, Hector is well qualified for the role. He thoroughly understands the tastes and preferences of the local market. We look forward to seeing what he brings to Clearwater’s culinary scene.”
As executive sous chef, Chef Pabon will be responsible for assisting Executive Chef Richard Preston in overseeing all dining outlets: SHOR American Seafood Grill, featuring a dramatic show kitchen and panoramic Gulf views; Swim, a casual poolside eatery with a Pan-Latino fusion menu; and Skimmers, a grab-and-go coffee station by day and lively lobby bar by night. Chef Pabon’s responsibilities will also include banquet and in-room dining.
